Mercedes-Benz announced their cars would be carbon-neutral by 2039

Yesterday Mercedes-Benz announced that they are planning to make their entire passenger car fleet carbon free by 2039.

The main aim is to have electric models make up more than half of its total car sales by 2030, including all-electric models and plug-in hybrids, and is also working on new lines of electric vans, trucks and buses.

The company describes this target as “a fundamental transformation”. It looks like to be the fastest timeline for carbon neutrality of any of the major auto investment announcements.
